Collection: Cut Piece

oh hey, i'm erin.  the creator of cut piece studio.  i make limited, small batch clothing here on beautiful Gunditjmara country in warrnambool, victoria, australia. 

i studied an advanced dipolma of fashion design, finishing in 2009.  i've always been passionate about independent design and brands.  i like clothing to be thoughtful, minimal and long lasting.  the idea of fast fashion never sat well with me.  the waste, the treatment of workers and affect the industry has on the environment makes me feel sick.  i've always appreciated and enjoyed each process in the making of a garment.  the skill that goes into drafting and grading patterns as well as the construction and finishing process.      

i finishing my degree during the gfc and it was a tough gig.  i started cut piece as a little side business, designing, drafting + sewing on my days off until i made the decision to move back to my hometown and open a boutique clothing store.  i lived my dream running the store for 8 years, loving (almost) every moment of it.  it taught me so much about people and clothing.  it taught me a lot about a customers wants and needs.  how important good quality fabric makes to even the simplest of cuts and i learnt what kind of pieces people love to own and wear and wear and wear again. 

after the arrival of my second babe in 2020, i sold my little shop and almost a year after that i made the decision to focus on this little brand i begun over 10 years ago.

i want to make clothes that stand the test of time.  that tell a story after years of wear and love.  if simplicity, natural fibres, and a love of small thoughtful details are your thing, i hope you like cut piece.
